We’ve all
heard the expression, “You get what you pay for.” How many of us have found
that to true? We think we are going to save a little money so we go for the
less expensive choice. Sometimes cheaper ends up being more expensive in the long
run.
Let’s take
auto insurance, for instance. We all have to have auto insurance and there are
several insurance companies you can get your auto insurance from but not all of
them provide the same, top notch insurance. Cheaper now may mean paying more
later when you need to actually use your insurance.
When going
with a company who advertises that they can save you hundreds of dollars a year,
be very careful and look at what your policy actually covers. Do your research.
Will you have a high deductible? To make the insurance cheaper, yes your
deductible will be high. Chances are the
policy itself will have gaps throughout so if you were in an accident, the
‘cheap’ just went out the door. Not to mention some insurers will raise your
rates or even drop you completely with one claim, no matter how big or small.
Forgiveness may not be in their vocabulary. Farmers does have Incident
Forgiveness, Small Claims Forgiveness and Comprehensive Claims Forgiveness that
can be added to your policy that already comes fitted with quality coverage.
What about
putting in a claim? Will they have 24/7 support? Will the person you speak with
have the training to know what to do to help you and to make your claim
processes go as smoothly and quickly as possible? Who’s to say for sure, but
what I do know is that Farmers takes pride in their highly trained agents and
their claims professionals to insure that your claims experience is as pleasant
as can be. The claims professionals make sure to keep you up to date with the
process with the least amount of hassle as possible. Getting you back on the
road quickly and back to your norm is key and that’s what they’re goal is.
When writing
any type of policy, Farmers makes sure to take the information given and get
you into the best policy that fits what you need. We provide personalized
service and 24/7 support. You can access documents, billing and policy
information online as well. We even have an app for smartphones that’s free.
Saving money
always sounds like a good idea but not when it comes to spending more money if
something where to happen. Make sure you research and learn about what your
insurance covers. Like Professor Burke says, “The more you learn about your
insurance, the more gaps you may find. Like you may be covered for this…. But
not for something like this…” (See video below.)
